Consultation has concluded

Alternate side parking exists on some streets across the City. On these streets, parking is permitted on one side of the street for half the month, then the other side of the street for the other half of the month. This program is in place all year long.

This bi-monthly alternate side parking program has existed in the South Central Peninsula for many years. No changes are currently being considered to the program in the South Central Peninsula.

However, the use of a bi-monthly alternate side parking program is relatively new (2019) for streets in the North, East, and West parts of the City. Prior to 2019, streets in these areas had parking that alternated nightly, between November 15 and April 30 each year.

Soon after implementing the bi-monthly program in the North, East and West parts of the City we received concerns from the community. We are now seeking input from residents in these communities as to whether there should be changes to the program before any recommendations are made to Common Council.
