FAQs
Is this the final design?
The included drawing is a preliminary concept drawing only that provides the vision of the overall scope of the project. More detailed analysis of each section of Charlotte Street will be required as that section is being reconstructed to deal with any specific challenges.
What are the green dashed lines on the drawing?
These lines are markings that will be painted on the asphalt and represent areas of potential vehicle and bicycle conflict. These are typically painted at high volume driveways or at intersections and provide visual cues of the potential conflict.
How will removing alternate side parking affect snow clearing operations?
There will be minor impacts to the snow clearing operations on Charlotte Street due to the removal of alternate side parking. When the snowfall accumulation warrants it, a South-Central Peninsula Overnight Winter Parking Ban will be called to allow for the clearing of the parking lane. Between parking bans, twice per month, streets with alternate side parking can receive snow clearing service; this opportunity would be lost on Charlotte Street with loss of alternate side parking.
