The study has the following goals and scope of work:
Develop a Comprehensive Parking Study to guide the parking service in meeting evolving community needs, supporting future development, and promoting smart growth.
Review Current Parking Services with a focus on the South-Central Peninsula, assessing parking inventory, capacity, demand, and related services.
Provide Strategic Recommendations for short-term and long-term parking improvements aligned with the City’s existing plans, such as MoveSJ.
Evaluate Emerging Trends like active transportation, greening parking services, and the effectiveness of the current parking system, including snow bans and alternate-side parking.
Enhance Accessibility and Support Smart Development by exploring best practices and ensuring sufficient accessible parking.
Engage the Community and Stakeholders to inform the study’s recommendations.
